Bruno Serralongue was born in 1968 in Châtellerault. He lives and works in Paris and Geneva. Since the 1990s, his photographic work has challenged the processes of production contemporary media images. Whether confronting the reality of an event with its expectation (South Sudan series, 2011), returning places marked by intense media presence when they are no longer in the spotlight (Calais series, 2006), or following an event and offering an account that diverges from the typical media coverage (New Fabris series, 2009), Bruno Serralongue rediscovers the procedures of conceptual photography in order to reveal the complexity of reality rather than to exhaust its forms.

Since 1996, his photographs have been exhibited regularly in France and abroad, including retrospective preseentations at WIELS (Brussels), Jeu de Paume, Paris and Virreina Centre de la Imatge (Barcelona). His works are in numerous private and public collections, including Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Tate Modern in London, Fotomuseum de Winterthur, Musée National d'Art Moderne and the Centre Pompidou.
