PRICE

PRICE (Mathias Ringgenberg, b. 1986 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Zurich-based artist working across installation, performance, sound, scent, and scenography. Rooted in theatre and performance, his current practice increasingly stages atmosphere itself: voice, smell, objects, and spatial fragments become carriers of affect and dramaturgy. Often using residual materials from theatrical production, his works move between exhibition, stage, and club, exploring how identity, desire, and spectatorship are produced through surfaces, moods, and acts of display.

PRICE has launched several musical projects and released them through various music labels such as cazarnagora and Latency. He has taught workshops and given lectures at various institutions, including the Art Academy in Ghent, B, KEM Space in Warsaw, PL, Lateral Roma in Rome, IT, Gerrit Rietveld Academy and Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, NL, Institute Art Gender Nature in Basel and ZhdK Master Fine Arts in Zürich, CH, Rupert’s Summer School in Vilnius LT.

In addition to his artistic practice, PRICE took on the role of guest curator for the performance program at the renowned festival Les Urbaines in Switzerland from 2017 to 2021. Beside that, he is one of the six curators of the art space Lateral Roma, which he co-founded with Geraldine Tedder in Rome in the year 2020. Recently, PRICE and his long-standing working partner Niklaus Mettler have co-founded AirSolutions, an agency specializing in the development of scent in space.
